WHY WEATHER MATTERS FOR HAM RADIO
HF Propagation

Solar flux and geomagnetic conditions determine which HF bands are open. Higher SFI means better propagation on 10m, 12m, 15m.

Field Operations

POTA and SOTA activators need to check wind, rain, and temperature before heading out. The Windy map shows real-time conditions at any park.

VHF/UHF

Tropospheric ducting, temperature inversions, and weather fronts create enhanced VHF propagation. Check the pressure layer on the map.
